Abstracts

Abstract Submission Categories

General terms and conditions

Abstracts are required for all oral presentations and posters.
Abstracts must be submitted before 15 December 2026 (23:59 CET)
Accepted abstracts will be published on the first day of the conference in a publicly available deliverable of the ISDF 2027 Conference.
It is the responsibility of all authors that all studies are performed with respect to national legislation, international legislation and ethical guidelines both with regards to humans and animals.
It is the responsibility of the authors that the author list is correct: all authors must qualify as authors and agree on the contents of the abstract.
It is the responsibility of the authors that the abstract is written in correct and clear English language. Language used should be inclusive and take into consideration the wide audience of the ISDF 2027.
Submitting a preference for an oral presentation does not guarantee selection. The final decision on presentation format (oral, or poster) lies with the Scientific Committee.
You will receive notification from the Conference Secretariat regarding whether your abstract has been:
– Accepted for an oral presentation, or
– Accepted for a poster presentation
By submitting, you confirm that your abstract represents original work and that you have the rights to submit it for review and publication.

Presenting author and registration

All presenters will be required to attend in-person to make their Oral or Poster Presentations.
The presenting author must register as an active participant at the conference at the latest 14 days after acceptance of an abstract.
The ISDF 2027 Conference Secretariat reserves the right to exclude any abstract that is not followed by a participant registration at the latest 14 days after notification of acceptance.

Contents of your abstract

The abstract word limit is max. 350 words per abstract (main text, excluding title, author names and affiliations, as well as funding information and references, if any).
Abstracts must be submitted in English.

Names of authors may not be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their institution(s), when you submit your abstract online.

The abstract must include the following:
- Background/Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
- Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
- Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table and illustrations.
- Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.
The identity of technologies (approved or experimental) mentioned should be disclosed in the abstract text or by making reference to publicly accessible sources. Trademarks may be included in the abstract text between brackets, but only once and only the first time the product/service/technology is mentioned. No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. All abbreviations must be defined in first use. Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.

Use of brand names: Generic names must be used for all references to products or companies. The brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. ISDF 2027 reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.

References: A maximum of five literature references may be added at the end of the abstract text. State only the first author’s name and bibliography (not the title of the paper) of each reference.

Acknowledgements: Mention all sources of funding of the work described and other acknowledgements briefly at the end of the abstract text. References and acknowledgements are included in the 350 word count for the abstract text.

Reviewing

The Scientific Committee will review and evaluate the abstracts.
Notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be sent to all authors.
For accepted abstracts, the Scientific Committee will decide the type of the presentation, taking into account the preferred presentation type chosen by the abstract submitter.
